"Well that's not a good sign"
This video is about bens launch [Addendum by JB: This was Ben Turner's "What Are The Civilian Applications" rocket. Part kit, part scratch-built. Rocket project for Ben's University (Strathclyde, Glasgow) Dissertation. Launch and ascent on Cesaroni I236 motor was excellent. However, the lateral, side door parachute deployment system failed to operate. (Ben has previoulsy been very successful with side-door parachute deployment. This time the deployment mechanism was a step further in development). The impact point of the rocket out on the range was we thought quite well spotted. However, an extensive search failed to find any sign of the rocket. If it landed nose first in soft ground (which there's a lot of at the FMRS) the rocket may have gone all the way in. Unfortunately because the rocket has not been retrieved (so far) the cause of the failure of the parachute deployment can't be determined.]
